Jan Beaney workshop

I was fortunate to get onto Jan's Course at Dilham Art Centre earlier this month. we spent one day working on creating bark like backgrounds of scrim and thread and Chiffon worked on wool fabric and then worked  lots of hand stitches. I haven't done a lot of hand stitching but found this free way of working created fantastic textures. The lighting doesn't show the real colours well, I must get some photographic tips.
I am still working this piece and will post when done

Ready to go

Finally finished the bag I was commisioned to make at the recent Aldborough Creative Exhibition here it is.
I finished it yesterday on a gloomy, stormy day and so the lighting isn't very good at all something I need to work on for future projects. Enrika's daughter is getting married this weekend so I was cutting it fine with the deadline, but the threads only arrived at the beginning of last week they needed to match her dress, shoes and facinator
I hope she is pleased with it.

Yipee I've nearly finished

I have got to the border of my first single bed sized crocheted blanket. It's made up of very small crocheted granny squares and finished with a double crocheted band to bring it all together. I am working on the last row of the border which I thought would suit a pointed edging. The finished blanket is for my 2 year old Grand Daughter Lily I hope she enjoys snuggling up under it looking at her books with baby sister Ella.
I will post some pictures but I want to get back to crocheting as I am hoping to get it finished today, fingers crossed.
